Maintain Electronics Equipment with Spray Electronic Component Cleaner

In this day and age when we are surrounded by electronic components that we rely upon in our everyday lives, it has become more important to maintain our electronics with the correct electronic component cleaner. The most common method involves simply using canned air for your electronic component cleaner needs. Yes, it is easy. But it’s not necessarily the best option. Spray electronic component cleaners will provide you with a much more effective clean.

Most spray electronic component cleaners come with two primary items; a can of spray cleaner, and some absorbs ion paper. When using your spray electronic component cleaner, first you will want to lay the absorption paper beneath the equipment you are cleaning with the coated side down so that after using your spray electronic component cleaner the paper can absorb the cleaning liquid and dust.

After you have set up the equipment to be cleaned, you can now begin to spray your electronic component cleaner. Remember, it is important for such cleaners that you spray from a very short distance- roughly 10cm. Also, you’ll want to spray from the top to the bottom on your equipment to be cleaned. This method helps your electronic component cleaner to remove as much dust and particles as possible. Be liberal with your spray. You will want to continue until it begins to drip from the edges.

After applying your spray electronic component cleaner liberally, you’ll need to tip the component you are cleaning somewhat to help the liquid, dust, and particles run down to collect on the absorption paper.

Now you can simply throw away the absorption pad. You’ve just successfully used a spray electronic component cleaner that will provide a much cleaner piece of equipment for you than any plain can of air ever could. With these electronic component cleaner sprays, it is not uncommon for the components to seem wet or damp for 30 to 40 minutes after application. This is expected, and even though your first though would be to wait until all appearances of wetness have faded, cleaning with electronic component cleaner sprays allow you to immediately begin using your equipment after cleaning.

As a warning when using electronic component cleaner sprays, you should avoid using them on things such as computer keyboards, your magnetic media storage devices, plastic or rubber coated devices, and your cellular phone. These are quite minor cleaning jobs that just don’t require the strength of a electronic component cleaner spray, and could be done with simple air. And, I also imagine, it should go without saying that you should never use an electronic component cleaner of any type on equipment that is plugged into a power source.
